Faith Resolute · Christian nonfiction Version 1.1 — 29 July 2026

What we publish

Faith Resolute publishes Christian nonfiction that names hard things honestly and shows the way through.

Every manuscript we accept answers one question in two parts:

Does this book name a real difficulty honestly — and give the reader a scriptural, practical way through it?

Both halves are required. A book that only diagnoses leaves the reader worse off than it found them. A book that only encourages never earned the right to. What we are looking for does both, in that order.

Subjects

Open to any subject that can meet that test:

Spiritual formation and discipleship · marriage and family · grief and loss · money and stewardship · leadership · cultural engagement · recovery · vocation and calling · prayer · church life and church hurt

Categories closed to submissions

We do not accept submissions of Bible study and Sunday school titles. These are written in-house and published on the house's own account: there is no participation payment, no schedule and no author contract for them.

This is not a judgement on a manuscript. It is a statement that this imprint is not the right home for one, and we would rather say so now than after an eight-week read.

What we decline

  • Encouragement without substance. Feeling with no footing under it
  • Critique without a way forward. Diagnosis with no treatment
  • Prosperity teaching
  • Books whose principal claim is the author's platform. Platform helps a book sell; it does not make a book worth publishing
  • Fiction, poetry, children's books, and devotional gift books — none are our category
  • Manuscripts requiring us to take a side in intra-denominational disputes

What we look for in the writing

Honesty before resolution. Name the thing plainly. Readers can tell when a difficulty has been softened before it was described, and they stop trusting the book that does it.

Scripture that carries weight, not decoration. Passages should be doing structural work in the argument, not appended to conclusions reached without them.

Something the reader can do. Not a formula — a next step. If a reader finishes a chapter and cannot say what it asks of them, the chapter is not finished.

A clear voice. We would rather publish an unusual voice writing clearly than a conventional one writing well.

What happens next

Step
1Reading. Every proposal is read against the editorial test
2Conversation. If it fits, we talk — about the book, the reader, and what publication would involve
3Terms. We set out the participation ladder and you choose a tier. Nothing is negotiated privately; the schedule is published
4Editorial. Development, then substantive editing, then proofreading. You approve a galley proof before release
5Design and production. Cover commissioned to a designer, interior set, files prepared for print and digital
6Publication. Print and ebook, distributed to retail and library channels

What publication costs, and what you earn

Faith Resolute is transparent about this, and the schedule is published rather than quoted.

Publication involves a one-time production payment. The amount you choose sets your royalty rate, permanently:

Production paymentYour royalty, for the life of the book
$3,50050% of net receipts
$2,00035% of net receipts
$50020% of net receipts

Full schedule available on request. 50% of net receipts at $3,500, less 2.5 percentage points per $250 step down. The ladder steps in $250 increments, 2.5% points per step, from $3,500 down to $500.

Nothing is deferred and nothing is owed. The payment is the payment. There is no balance to repay, no advance to earn out, and no further sum payable at any time.

You keep your copyright. We take an exclusive licence to publish. If a book effectively stops selling, our exclusivity lapses and you are free to publish it elsewhere while we continue selling our edition.

For manuscripts we believe in strongly, we waive the payment entirely and fund the title ourselves. That decision is editorial and we make it rarely.

What we do and do not do

We provide: development and substantive editing, proofreading, commissioned cover design, interior design, print and ebook production, ISBN assignment, metadata and keyword optimisation, retail page setup, distribution to print and digital channels, a launch toolkit, and an announcement to our list.

We do not provide: advertising campaigns, publicity or media booking, paid promotion management, or any guarantee of sales.

Reaching readers is largely yours. We would rather say that plainly at the start than imply otherwise and disappoint you later. Books in this category sell because their authors work at it.

Production standards

Every deliverable in the Services Schedule is produced to the standards set out in our House Editorial Style Sheet — Chicago-based, with the sector conventions of the Christian Writer's Manual of Style, and a defined house position on Scripture citation and permissions.

What we commit to is the output and the standard. The tools, vendors, and workflows we use to reach it are ours to determine and are confidential, as they are at any publisher.

You review a galley proof before release and have not fewer than fourteen days to do it, with one round of corrections at no charge. Nothing goes to retail without your written approval.
